There are some specific signs that you should be on the lookout for to know if your pet is having an emergency. Once you notice them you should take your pet in for emergency care as soon as you can.

These signs may be easy to spot for veteran pet owners. However, new pet owners may second-guess themselves. Below are some of the major signs that your pet needs to visit an emergency animal clinic.

Bleeding

Bleeding may not always be a sign that your pet needs emergency care. Animals play and get into accidents all the time. However, severe bleeding that continues non-stop can be defined as uncontrolled bleeding. This is an emergency because as it continues your pet will get weaker. This could lead to collapse.

This type of bleeding must be stopped immediately. You should rush your pet to emergency care as soon as you can.

Vomiting

This is another symptom that is not always an emergency. Dogs will vomit occasionally especially if they eat something that does not agree with their stuff.

If you observe your pet for longer than 24 hours and notice that the vomit is not recurring, they likely ate something that did not agree with them. However, vomiting that persists throughout the day with or without diarrhea is considered an emergency.

This is a situation that could lead to dehydration. You need to get your pet to the vet for an examination quickly.

Straining to Go Potty

Your pet should never be straining to pass waste. If you notice your pet is in serious discomfort, this is considered an emergency. There may be something blocking their bladder. Once this happens it may cause their bladder to rupture. Needless to say, this is very dangerous.

Going potty should be easy for your pet, once it becomes a chore that they must strain to do, take them to the vet.

Weakness In the Limbs

Any form of weakness in the limbs is an indicator that your pet needs emergency care. Several things could be happening. This is one symptom that could be indicative of something going wrong with several organs of your pet's body. It's impossible to tell which organ if you're not a professional. Take your pet to the vet as this is an emergency.

You now know the major signs that your pet needs emergency care. Do not hesitate once you see any of the symptoms listed above, your pet's health depends on your quick action.
